EPC stands for Energy Performance Certificate
An EPC indicates the energy efficiency of a property based on how expensive it is to heat.
It considers various factors such as:
- Size of property
- Method of heating
The energy efficiency of a property is shown through a rating system from G to A. An ‘A’ rated property is very efficient and the cheapest to heat, a G rated property will be very expensive to heat due to things like solid brick walls and no insulation.
Why do we need Energy Performance Certificates?
EPC’s are required for certain situations such as:
- Replacement Boiler Grant Funding
- Letting a property
- Selling a property
A register of all lodged EPC‘s can be found on the government site, also called the landmark database.
Kuco undertake EPC’s in Croydon and surrounding areas as part of the replacement boiler grant process, the energy rating of a property indicates how much funding will be available to the householder.
